How Your Estimated CPC Translates To Google Ads

When businesses think about SEO and Google Ads, they often think of them as two separate strategies. One generates organic traffic, while the other pays for visibility through advertising. At RSC Digital Marketing, we specialize in both organic and paid search, which allows us to look at the relationship between the two — and put an estimated dollar value behind the organic visibility your website has already earned.

One of the ways we do this is by conducting an SEO audit, analyzing the organic keywords your website is appearing for and translating those search metrics into their estimated Cost Per Click (CPC) in Google Ads.

What Is Your Organic Search Traffic Actually Worth?

Every keyword has a different level of competition and value within Google Ads. Some search terms may cost advertisers $1 or $2 per click, while highly competitive keywords can cost significantly more. If your website is already appearing organically for those searches, that visibility has value.

SEO platforms can estimate this by looking at the keywords a website ranks for, the organic traffic those rankings are likely generating and what advertisers would typically have to pay to generate comparable clicks through Google Ads.

For example, the SEO data shown in this image, estimates that a website ranks for 576 organic keywords, generating approximately 219 monthly organic clicks. Based on the estimated CPC of those keywords, the platform assigns that organic traffic an estimated monthly SEO click value of approximately $6,590.

That does not mean the website is generating $6,590 in revenue from SEO each month. Instead, it provides another way of understanding the value of its organic search presence: comparable clicks through Google Ads could represent thousands of dollars in advertising value.

How RSC Digital Marketing Translates Organic SEO Data Into Paid Search Value

Our process starts with your existing search visibility.

We conduct an SEO audit to identify the keywords your website is currently appearing for, including the impressions those searches are generating. From there, we analyze the estimated CPC associated with those keywords in paid search.

In simple terms:

Organic Keyword Visibility → Search Impressions → Estimated CPC → Paid Search Value

This gives us a clearer picture of which organic keywords may be particularly valuable and what it could cost to target similar search intent through Google Ads.

Appearing organically for a keyword with an estimated CPC of $10 has a very different potential search value than appearing for a keyword with a CPC of $0.75. Neither metric should be viewed in isolation, but together they provide useful information about where search demand and advertiser competition exist.

Why We Look at Organic SEO and Google Ads Together

This is where specializing in both SEO and Google Ads becomes particularly valuable. Organic keyword data can help identify opportunities for paid campaigns, while Google Ads data can provide additional insight into which search terms are competitive, expensive and ultimately generating conversions. Instead of building each strategy independently, we can use the data from both to make more informed decisions.

If a business already has strong organic visibility for an expensive, high-value keyword, maintaining and improving that ranking can represent significant long-term value. If another important keyword has limited organic visibility but strong commercial intent, Google Ads may provide an opportunity to gain visibility while the organic strategy develops.

The goal isn't to choose between paid and organic search. It's to understand what your search visibility is worth and where your marketing investment has the greatest opportunity to make an impact.

Turn Your Search Data Into a Strategy

Your website may already be appearing for hundreds of searches every month. The question is whether you know which keywords are creating that visibility, how competitive those searches are and what that traffic could cost if you were paying for it.

At RSC Digital Marketing, our SEO audits and keyword optimization programs help connect those dots. By analyzing organic keyword performance alongside paid search CPC data, we can turn existing search metrics into a clearer strategy for both SEO and Google Ads.
